New York, NY August 2020 — The annual fashion week showcase, Times Square Fashion Week is spreading the word globally that we are #NewYorkStrong and sending the message that New York fashion designers are moving fashion forward with a fashion presentation and press conference in the heart of Times Square. The September 2020 date and time will be released to confirmed media only.

Times Square Fashion Week was officially launched in 2019, and founded by Dee Rivera, CEO of DCG Media Group, with the vision to bring the excitement of New York Fashion Week to the “Crossroads of the World”, by providing a global platform for fashion designers to present their next collection.

With the fashion industry and NYC taking a major hit due to COVID-19, traditional fashion week venues are silent as most designers have decided to sit this one out. The fashion industry is searching for a new path forward for today’s leading and emerging designers, and Times Square Fashion Week is leading the way with new opportunities for brands that will redefine New York Fashion Week.

With New York COVID-19 restrictions in mind, this season’s version of Times Square Fashion Week will include photo shoots in Times Square, digital fashion shows on Times Square Billboards, and a fashion presentation on the Red Stairs in the iconic Father Duffy Square on September 8, 2020.  A Times Square Fashion Week Global Premier will show the world how New York is Moving Fashion Forward on the digital streaming platform Global Fashion Channel, which will feature a short film streamed on Apply TV, Google Play, Roku, and more. The film will feature the designers, dignitaries, and behind-the-scenes team that has made Times Square Fashion Week possible.

Times Square Fashion Week is a joint production of DCG Media Group and Fashion MIngle, a global platform for fashion industry professionals. Executive Producer and Fashion Mingle CEO Melissa Shea will lead the media team who will conduct photo shoots in Times Square and capture the experience of the participating designers. A digital fashion show will be shown on cascading Times Square billboards at 42nd Street and 7th Ave showcasing featured designers and sponsors.

The Times Square Fashion Week press conference and fashion presentation will be produced by DCG Media Group’s CEO, Dee Rivera who is honored to have the support of Manhattan Borough President, Gale Brewer as the Keynote Speaker, and Mistress of Ceremonies and New York City philanthropist, Jean Shafiroff.

MASK PRODUCTION by THROW

THROW is a design, product development, and production management company whose heart and DNA is Sustainability and is the official supplier of the Times Square Fashion Week face mask, whose sale benefits City Harvest, New York’s largest food rescue organization.

Fashion can be transformative, and at THROW we take that notion to heart. THROW takes designer and industrial materials that have served a purpose, then transforms them through re-design into something beautiful and new again. From surplus designer fabric left at the cutting room to giant vinyl trade show banners destined for landfill, THROW diverts excess from the supply chain and gives it new life. THROW’s focus is on up-cycling rather than recycling. What’s the difference? Recycling generally goes more downstream (think designer jeans recycled into insulation, or elegant writing paper turned into egg cartons)
